Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Rod Dreher has joined the growing list of regular contributors at Orthodox Christian Network.

Rod is the author of “Crunchy Cons” (2006), a columnist at the Dallas Morning News, and author of the “Crunchy Con” blog on Beliefnet.com. He has worked as a news columnist and film critic for the New York Post, a senior writer at National Review, and has contributed to Touchstone, the Weekly Standard, the Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, ABC News, CNN, the Fox News Channel and other national media outlets. He was for many years a Roman Catholic, but converted with his family to Orthodoxy in 2006. He lives in Dallas with his wife and three children, and worships at St. Seraphim’s Cathedral (OCA).

He will join Fr. Chris Metropulos, executive director of OCN and host of the long running Orthodox radio program Come Receive The Light, on a regular basis. Rod will offer his thoughts on cultural, religious, and political events on a new segment called “Just Thinking.” You will be able to hear “Just Thinking” with Rod on OCN’s two internet based radio stations, The Ark and The Rudder. You can listen online anytime by going to www.myocn.net.

Dreher stated “Orthodoxy has a liberating message to share with America – one that speaks of freedom from sin in Christ Jesus, to be sure, but also of a more subtle freedom. Orthodoxy liberates Christians from the tyranny of the spirit of our modern times by calling Christians to the Truth as preserved in holy tradition, back to the ageless beauty of ancient Christian worship, and forward in a faith that has withstood the test of time. As a new Orthodox Christian, I’m pleased to join with OCN in sharing what I’m discovering as I learn to see the world through Orthodox eyes.”

Orthodox Christian Network (OCN), is an official agency of SCOBA, the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas, and develops effective ways to use modern media to raise awareness of our Orthodox faith in the minds of the general population and to be an “assistant” to local parish priests in keeping our faithful attached to the Church between worship services. OCN produces the nationally syndicated radio program Come Receive The Light and the 24 hour internet based radio ministries of The Ark and The Rudder. For more information, go to www.myocn.net.
